Scan a barcode
Point the camera at any product's barcode β food, medicine, toys, anything β and it's checked against every current recall from FDA, CPSC and USDA.
What a result means. A red match means this exact barcode appears in a recall notice β check the lot code on the official notice, because recalls usually affect specific lots, not every unit ever made. A yellow match means the product's brand or name resembles a recalled product. No match is good news but not a guarantee: many food recalls list lot codes and dates rather than barcodes, so a recalled item can scan clean here.
Product names for unmatched barcodes come from the Open Food Facts community database.
